Light and Shadow. Leith Shore, Edinburgh - December 2011

11 December 2011. I had decided to visit Leith, Edinburgh's port. I did not know what to expect. Would there be photo opportunities? Boy, I was not disappointed. Leith shore has such an old world charme. I was also lucky with the light. Although freezing cold, the low sun created long shadows which gave everything a special magical and calm appearance.
Apparently Leith is becoming a trendy hotspot with two Michelin Star restaurants located here.

Warming up at the The Ship on the Shore restaurant, enjoying a massive bowl of fresh Mussels and rustic bread. Delicious!

Burntisland East Breakwater Lighthouse relocated to Leith. Built in 1876.

Sneaker tree. I have no idea why this tree is decorated with shoes.

Excellent photography Dorit - you certainly have a good eye for it. A very worthwhile series.....wayne.

Wow Wayne. Thank you for your comment and for following the blog. I'm afraid it's probably going to be a while until the next post.
Edinburgh is such a magical city. Hopefully I can visit again in the near future. It's a but further now that I've moved back to Dresden in Germany.
